RHC&C LLP is seeking an associate with 5+ years’ work experience in the nonprofit and/or tax field.

We counsel some of Southern California’s most significant tax exempt organizations helping them navigate the all-too confusing federal and state laws. The goals of each organization are carefully listened to so we may craft solutions that help achieve their charitable objectives.

We offer flexible working arrangements and embrace a work-life balance. The position is full-time, but we will consider part-time for the right candidate.

Responsibilities for the ideal candidate would include:

•  Providing exempt organization tax advice on a variety of federal and state tax matters such as unrelated business income tax, self-dealing, intermediate sanctions, for-profit subsidiaries and joint ventures, charitable giving issues including all forms of deferred giving, endowment and fund accounting and investments, property tax exemptions and other matters;

•  Nonprofit corporate governance counseling, such as establishing and restructuring nonprofits, advising on internal processes, structuring corporate boards and advisory committees, and resolving ethical dilemmas;

•  Defending nonprofits facing IRS, FTB or Attorney General investigations;

•  Contractual drafting and advising, such as negotiating mergers, program related investments, joint ventures and vendor agreements, and drafting and reviewing grant agreements and procedures; and

•  Troubleshooting new projects and programs.
